Wavy Minds

do you remember you walked me to the car
your arm around my waist; I promised to call
I never told you that I felt our lives were so small

I drove away from you my hand on the wheel
the clouds were fluffy and high; I started to feel
how come the dreams are so much bigger than what is real

wet hearts do not burn, wavy minds cannot learn
tho i die i will return

a little house, a fence, a pure ring of gold
the basic things of this life, they flicker like a ghost
clear and uncontained i am exposed

how can everything seem so plain
a handshake, an afternoon, dry and contained
the feel of pants weighed against the fear of pain

wet hearts do not burn, wavy minds cannot learn
tho i die i will return

you said a fire of red it lives in the earth
and all our fingers and bones they hunger for it’s warmth
you said fire is where we return

and yet watch how I float then I drown
liquid arms they are guiding me down
and i feel i feel the love surround

wet hearts do not burn, wavy minds cannot learn
tho i die i will return

We Can Mate With Rabbits

Sitting by a campfire
in a temporary home.
Sitting three feet away from you
I’m as silent as a stone.

And my heart is all in pieces–
I was unfair.
It ain’t your job to be strong;
I got to be as light as air.

And I know that its true,
I know I wanted something,
I was asking for a home,
I was looking for a ring,

But I’ll promise you this–
promise I’ll be moving on,
that I’ll reach the base of Everest
before we reach the dawn,

So please believe in me,
please believe in me,
please believe in me…
We can mate with rabbits.

Please believe in me,
please believe in me,
please believe in me…
we can mate with rabbits.

A seed has been planted
somewhere deep inside.
The moon has started tugging at
these tears in my eyes.

I see you packing your bags–
I know you’re going away.
Hey, that’s alright with me;
I ain’t asking you to stay.

But if a heart can travel,
mine will travel with you.
Put this locket in your pocket;
take my picture with you,

Cause if you’re on a bed of nettles,
and it’s colder than the sun,
and you really need a friend,
you can be certain of one…

If you’ll believe in me,
please believe in me,
please believe in me…
We can mate with rabbits.

Please believe in me,
please believe in me,
please believe in me…
we can mate with rabbits.

I know that I’m Orpheus;
I know that it’s true.
I know I cannot turn around
to take a picture of you.

And your footsteps are light;
it’s hard to hear a thing.
And its blacker than the night;
it’s hard to see a thing.

But there’s a light up above,
and we’ll come out in the spring
when the bluebirds are alighting
on the green of a wing,

And if you wanna have a picnic
that’s something I can do.
If you wanna know the truth,
I wanna make love with you.

Please believe in me,
please believe in me,
please believe in me…
We can mate with rabbits.

Please believe in me,
please believe in me,
please believe in me…
we can mate with rabbits.

We Fly

Everyone knows the way these boys start
Fluttering on the ground
Lifting their eyes towards the sky
Then circling round and round

Then they fly
Like a feather on the way
And they fly
Everyone knows the day

Lighting a candle when she sees him
Standing there in the door
Laying her wings upon the table
Won’t need them anymore

Then they fly.
Like a feather on its way
And they fly
Everyone knows the day

I gave up dancing to amuse you
That only worked before
Laying my candles in a circle
Lighting them on the floor, and I fly

Lying upon the bed in darkness
Dreaming of jealousy
So many dreams I dreamed I never
Once of being free, and to fly

Lying upon the bed in darkness
Held safely by the wrist
One ruby column shines like anger
One is just a fist

Walking into the room you lay
Your beer on the tableside
Laying your hands upon my face
For one moment you’ll be mine

And we’ll fly
Like a feather on his way
And we’ll fly
Everyone knows the day.

What is the sky made of?

Stars shine like mesmerizing, reaching their hands to me
False my man, you shouldn’t taken a stand if you wanted to be that free.

Shadows stretch themselves before me, won’t let me say no
Like a trail of women they will follow you where you go.

Night is long
Filled with something strong.

And when you walk away, you thought no one would realize
What is the sky made of? It’s made of eyes.

Star shine like mesmerizing, filling my heart with black
Though I travel here and there in the daylight I come back.

Shadows stretch out in the sand, I watch their bright eyes shine
Travels through the desert are just travels through the mind.

Time is long
Leaves you wanting something wrong.

And when you walk away, you thought no one would realize
What is the sky made of? It’s made of eyes.

Swords through hearts, black blood pours
Catches stars, seeps through doors.

Eyes fill the shadows stretched so languid on the dunes
Look away, my man, you shouldn’t reach that land too soon.

Cause if you walk away, you know that you will realize
What is the sky made of? It’s made of eyes.

White World

Take my hand- I won’t hurt you
you can’t go it alone or your mind will desert you
here in this white world, warmth is all we need

Crystals form like frozen phantoms
rainbows spray off of icy mountains
beauty chills your bones through the frozen sea

When you see the lights that’s when you know you’re dying
when your body hurts, that’s when you’re holding on
cause the pain you feel is the hand of life when it’s clutching you
and when the comfort starts to flow then you know you’re gone

Ice reminds me of another world
where nothing changes and everything’s so pure
a magic world, full of flashing dreams

But beauty it shines like a frozen cup
first you slip and slide, then it swallows you up
don’t cross over- stay here with me

When you see the lights that’s when you know you’re dying
when your body hurts, that’s when you’re holding on
cause the pain you feel is the hand of life when it’s clutching you
and when the pleasure starts to flow then you know you’re gone

And you know the light it has nowhere to guide us
it comes from a ball that is burning inside us
it twists and it bends on the frozen skin of dreams

But if we walk so careful over every crevasse
and we wince with pain when the wind reprimands us
maybe we can keep our humanity

When you see the lights, that’s when you know you’re dying
when your body hurts, that’s when you’re holding on
cause the pain you feel is the hand of life when it’s clutching you
and when the beauty starts to flow then you know you’re gone

Who will Make Love to Me?

Drifting through space
where it’s always night.
Where it’s always beautiful
And I’m dressed in white.

When I was a child
it was beautiful here
I’m still a child because
there’s so much time up here.

When I was I child
Space filled my eyes
I was silent as the moon
Space filled my eyes

Who will make love to me?
Who will make love to me?
Who will make love to me… who?
Who will make love to me?
Who will make love to me?
Who will make love to me…who?

I watch the earth at night
It’s so far away
I dream dimly of the earth
O, it’s so far away.

If I could pierce the atmosphere
Like a stone splashing down in the sea
Would I shut my eyes like a frightened stone
Would I still be able to see?

Who will make love to me…

On earth no clothes would be required
The center of the earth is molten fire.
The cold of space is a fantasy
the eyes of the people is all they see

Who will make love to me…

I dream a man although
I’ve never seen one before.
Eyes spread wide & dark like space
With molten fire at the core

Core of fire is reflected in his eyes
as they water up like the sea
And though I freeze like galactic ice
his fire presses out to me.

Who will make love to me…

Wild Wild Seas

On the wild wild seas i will ride my horse again
with a flower for my mother & another one for the wind
like the shadow of a flower, like the pebble of a friend
on the wild seas i will ride my horse again.

Drifting through your castle on a pink & floating cloud
O you never seem to notice me until i’m on the ground
Kneeling by you lady with my head between your knees
and i’m begging you for one more chance to ride upon your seas.
Lady lady lady let me find myself again
Won’t you cut my chains & breathe on me so heavy like the wind?

On the wild wild seas i will ride my horse again
with a flower for my mother & another one for the wind
like the shadow of a flower, like the pebble of a friend
on the wild seas i will ride my horse again.

Favored among beggars, you are calm & well disposed.
Through your frozen lips you ask me where I got my funny clothes.
Shall I creep away ungainly?  Shall I tell the funny truth?
Oh my lady, lady, lady, why I got my clothes from you.
I retrieved them from your daughter; she was swimming in the sea
And i asked if maybe, maybe she could spare some clothes for me.

On the wild wild seas i will ride my horse again
with a flower for my mother & another one for the wind
like the shadow of a flower, like the pebble of a friend
on the wild seas i will ride my horse again.

Land of milk & honey, nevermore & better days
On the altar of your green green shores I would throw my life away
But my little little brother well I know he waits for me
With his bugle & his blue shirt floating high above the sea
So take the crown off of your head & lay it on the ground
May you fill it with a thousand tears before death comes around.

The Window

They say the rain will play that song again
You know the way it will go.
To feel his net within my mind again
I’ll lead the way even so.

If you’re gonna take a one time stand, then you’re a one time man
You don’t know the way
If you want to say that they were wrong when they were barely born
Save it for another day.

If you want to take the easy way and fly
First you’ll walk towards the window by my side
Water running through the drain and
Everything remans the same and

If you want to find the open road and go
First you’ll walk towards the window then you’ll know
Clouds are foaming in the blue and
Do you think that they’re reforming you man?

I feel the baker take her time again
Stir slow, stir slow all of the corn.
Green field appear within my mind again
Grow slow, grow slow, only born.

If you wanna take a one time stand, then you’re a one time man
You don’t know the way.
If you wanna say that they were wrong, when they were barely born
Save it for another day.

If you want to take the easy way and fly
First you’ll walk towards the window by my side
Water running through the drain and
Everything remains the same and

If you want to find the open road and go
First you’ll walk towards the window and you’ll know
Clouds are foaming in the blue and
Do you think that they’re reforming you man?

You know the way to pull that cold from me
Pull hard, pull hard, pull with your hand.
My hair was rope inside your hand, you see
Pull hard, pull hard see if you can.

If you wanna take a one time stand, then you’re a one time man
You don’t know the way.
If you wanna say that they were wrong, when they were barely born
Save it for another day.

If you want to take the easy way and fly
First you walk towards the window by my side
Water running through the drain and
Everything remains the same an

If you want to find the open road and go
First you’ll walk towards the window and you’ll know
Clouds are foaming in the blue and
Do you think that they’re reforming you man?

The Wire

You held my hand by barbed wire
You covered my mouth trash burned in a fire
The hills rose high
No thrills, no sky

We walked the road through shack and shed
We fed the dogs some whole wheat bread
Likes fleas, like friends
Burdens that bleed, yearnings that end

You cry but all along
I knew that it was wrong
Under my breath I sang a song
I don’t belong,I don’t belong

Good morning dogs scratch at my door
Could I delay for just a moment more?
Cold air, always so gray
Always want more, carried away

You place the slippers on my feet
We watch the kids play on the street
Let’s try to have faith, let’s try to have fun
Look the kid in the stripes, he’s wearing a gun

You cry but all along
I knew that it was wrong
Under my breath I sang a song
I don’t belong, I don’t belong

I set a rock upon a log
I watched the trees dissolving into fog
Forced to remain, forced to hang on
Always the same, just expanded upon

You cry but all along
I knew that it was wrong
Under my breath I sang a song
I don’t belong, I don’t belong.

Women in Cages

Big man walking slow down a long long long hall;
His feet are dragging and his shoulders stretch from wall to wall.
At the end there’s an archway, at the end there’s a sky of blue,
And I’m lying in the grass like a tiny sliver of moon,
Watching a butterfly tied to a pink balloon.

You like the ladies, but my needle swings the other way,
You don’t seem to care, you just want to love me anyway.
Dinga linga linga, well I think you got a thinga for me.

Women in cages,
You know they’re a little bit dangerous, my friend,
When the chains start breaking through their skin, and then their bodies start to bleed.
Except for me, cause I can take it just like a man, my friend,
You see the shadow of the chain upon my skin, but it doesn’t frighten me.

You spent so many years in a big black box;
Your heart grew heavy and your head grew large as an ox.
You’d spend your days lying right smack dab on the floor
Watching movies in your head of the ladies that you knew before,
In the days when they was lying smack dab on the floor.

I was like a revelation when you saw me in the sun,
Playing with the birdies and I wasn’t wanting anyone,
Come on Dr. Livingstone, you know you’d better leave this one alone.

Hey there fellow, let me show you to the stairs,
You can walk through my gardens till your good intentions fill with air.
Let me tie a balloon to your memory.

Hey man, you’re such a pretty one,
Hey man, you’re such a  heavy one,
Touched with the thunder of the odyssey.

Women in cages,
You know they’re a little bit dangerous, my friend,
When the chains start breaking through their skin, and then their bodies start to bleed.
Except for me, Julien Aklei, yeah, cause I can take it just like a man, my friend,
You see the shadow of the chain upon my skin, but it doesn’t frighten me.

The World is Cold

I know you’re supposed to roam and run
the world is big so go have fun they say
don’t hide away.

I know you’re supposed to give it up
sniff like a dog and fill your cup with wine
at least some of the time.

But the world is cold; it’s only for the bold
love is just a story we are told.

Though the world is wide, I’d like to stay inside
cause every time they spoke to me they lied.

I know you’re supposed to say you care
to breathe in deep and fill your lungs with air
a refreshing prayer.

Cause air is love and it fills the streets
between you and the people that you meet
so clear and sweet.

But I know they lied, they tried to come inside
only to consume the food on which I relied.

I am the bruise; I will refuse
to let them turn my armor into ooze.

Love is shy, pale and weak
it isn’t safe for love to walk these streets.

The world is big but it’s filled with lies
smiles with its mouth but never with its eyes
what a gray disguise.

The world is wide but it’s flat and square
you can run and run but you won’t find love out there
on this I swear.

Although life is long, it’s only for the strong
hiding in the corner is the place where I belong.

Because the world is cold; it’s only for the bold
love is just a story we are told.
